oh the joy of having GREAT PEOPLE in your life....

So I keep thinking where would I be without certain people who are in my life currently. I would be in a whole different state, mindset, emotion, and just plain different person all together!

I am so grateful for the people who have helped me become who I am today. Obviously my Parents have played a HUGE roll in creating this person I call me. I am so happy to have such great parents who really do sincerely care about my well being and my future as a person in this difficult world.

Jayden has been more than a blessing in my life, he has been my...hmmm. well... my EVERYTHING! He has shown me the real meaning of love, the amazing feeling of being mother, and has kept me grounded right at the perfect times. I have never been good at giving myself the ultimatum in certain parts of my life but he has single handedly given me the strength to do so. He has taught me so much about life and about how much a single person can have such a huge impact on another person's life.

Another person who has really made me "see the light" is a great man I am lucky enough to call my boyfriend. He has been nothing but good to me. He has proven to me that there really are decent men left in this world. He has shown me how simple life can be and how some things are worth it just cause they are. Even though most of the time we are 600 miles away he makes me feel like he is right next to me all day long. He can put a smile on my face after a tough day. He makes me feel like no matter what I do I am worth being there for. I just hope I can do the same. I am excited to see where this all goes.

There are plenty of people I could mention both in good and bad situations throughout my life that have made me think about things to come and have made me choose for the better. This blog couldn't contain the long list and descriptions of those people. I am so glad to be alive and have the wonderful life I do. I couldn't ask for more or anything different. This is where I am supposed to be and who I'm supposed to be with.

So THANKS to those who have contributed to the creation that is Brenda.

The indecisive fears of a relationship

There is a song called "The fear you won't fall" by Josh Radin. It pretty much talks about the fears of falling in love.. and how scary it is because you never know if the other person will fall back. Well I was recently listening to that song and wondering about all the other items that are to be feared in the beginnings of a relationship that may not be addressed. Things such as when it's "ok" to say I love you, meeting to the parents of your significant other for the first time, when it's "expected" to give a present for holidays and special occasions, and many more things that are so completely not discussed between the couple most of the time.

So... I just thought I'd make a list of the things that I feel are personally not discussed enough but aren't a deal breaker either...well most the time. So here they are (in no particular order):

  • When it's ok to kiss
  • When do you say "I Love You"
  • Moving in together
  • Meeting each others parents
  • When to bring up living arrangements
  • When to talk about kids
  • How many times should you go out
  • Who drives, who pays
  • When is it ok for the woman to pay for things
  • If distance is involved who moves closer to whom or is it a mutual thing
  • What holidays are spent with family
  • If kids are involved when should they be introduced
  • How often should you hang out and where
  • What is unacceptable as far as etiquette
Those are just a few of the many items that intrigue me personally....who knows what types of relationships this falls under. Everyone is different but I think the issues stay the same, for the most part.
